Temple Israel’s Choir Welcomes You!
Our Choir members express their Jewish identity through traditional and contemporary Jewish choral music, strengthening our community’s connections to each other and our liturgy … so, if you love to sing beautiful Jewish music, please consider joining Temple Israel’s Choir!
Singing together is a great way to stay connected to the community that is both fun for participants and functional for our synagogue. Choir members form strong bonds with one another and their participation enhances our worship experience during the High Holy Days, at special Shabbat celebrations during the year, and at our annual Chanukah concert at CityPlace each December.
Our Choir’s Leadership:
Since we are always looking for new Choir members with whom to share this experience, please invite any talented Sopranos, Altos, Tenors or Basses to join us and, while July is the best time of year to join the Choir, new members are welcome to join us any time (except late August/September, since new members will likely find the sheer volume of High Holy Days’ music overwhelming).
Singing in the Temple Israel Choir is a fun, challenging, and meaningful experience for all who participate. Since our repertoire includes a range of music from more simple to more elaborate pieces, members of the choir take rehearsal attendance seriously, and work hard with help of our Choir Director, Accompanist, and other Choir members to make the most of our time together. Members come prepared to work hard at rehearsals (with a little bit of time to shmooze), and arrive on time with a smile. Our year-round Choir is made up on volunteers, with three professionals supporting our Choir during the High Holy Days, and we look forward to welcoming you!
