We are pleased to report that as part of our continuing efforts, we prevailed upon our contractor to work quickly and upgrade the air conditioning in the Sanctuary. The improvement has been noticeable and was achieved just in time for High Holy Days services.
We are also pleased to report that Temple Israel is under contract with our builder, IBIS Building Corp., and with our kitchen equipment supplier, Cheney Brothers, Inc. to complete our kitchen. We are waiting for the City of West Palm Beach to complete its permit review and issue our permit for construction. During the next 10 – 12 weeks, we will construct and complete a new and nearly 1,000 square foot commercially equipped catering kitchen. We thank all of the Kitchen Committee members for their efforts and all of the donors who have previously and recently contributed to the Capital Campaign. Through all of these efforts and contributions, we are turning the vision of our renovation and modernization of Temple Israel into a reality.
The last temple facilities remaining to be completed are the Social Hall and Cocktail Reception Room. These rooms will be designed to serve the needs of our temple community and will be constructed commensurate with the quality and beauty of our other renovations. Presently, we are working on a preliminary budget for this aspect or our project and we will report to you when we have a reasonable cost estimate for construction.
Our success with all of the other renovation and construction of our temple provides the confidence that this Congregation will rise to the occasion once again to complete the Social Hall and Cocktail Reception Room. We completed our renovation and construction of the Sanctuary, Offices, Classrooms, Media Center/Cyber Cafe’, Water View Courtyard, Central Courtyard, Parking Lot , and Porte Cochere during the worst economic period in American history since the Great Depression. We overcame doubt and fear, we moved Temple Israel forward, and we managed to pay for every aspect of our renovation and modernization without a mortgage. We can, we must, and we will move forward to complete our temple but, we can only do so with your help. Please contact our Executive Director, Linda Solomon (561) 833-8421, with your contribution towards the completion of your Temple Israel home.
