Torah Study

Our Shabbat morning Torah Study explores the parashah (weekly portion) from a variety of perspectives, including traditional, progressive, mystical, and literary. Through thoughtful conversation and lively debate, we plumb the depths of our most important sacred text to discover the personalities, challenges, and themes in the narrative that still affect our lives today.

This program attracts inquisitive minds and nourishes their souls as much with the coffee and nosh that we provide as with the interactivity of participants who contribute questions, ideas and interpretations. No prior knowledge of Hebrew or text study experience is necessary to join this group, just a desire to learn more about our sacred text.  Trust us, there is no better way to start your Shabbat morning!

FACILITATOR          Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein, with occasional guest facilitators

Rabbi Olshein began weekly Torah study as an adult with other members of her home synagogue in Las Vegas, and this group was instrumental in fostering her love of adult Jewish learning.  Through these discussions, she hopes to inspire you to learn more about our heritage as well!
