Tikkun Olam (Social Action)

Tikkun Olam—“repairing the world”—is a core value of Reform Judaism and a guiding principle of Temple Israel’s Social Action work.

Our Social Action Committee engages in ongoing efforts addressing hunger, poverty, homelessness, gun violence, mental health, racial injustice, literacy, voter engagement, immigration, and more through hands-on service, advocacy, education, and community partnerships.

Programs include food pantry support, Mitzvah Days, interfaith initiatives, school reading programs, community drives, postcard campaigns, and volunteer service projects throughout the year in partnership with local and national organizations.
